My Xantia and me

In addition to the introduction page, here you can find more on my Xantia. After having driven 3 BX for my job as a service engineer, in 1994 I was able to get a Xantia as successor (the last BX is visible on the first photo) . It was a 1.6i which ran on LPG. Early 1999 when the Xantia had reached 233.110 km, I received a new company car. As I did not like that car for private use, I bought the Xantia from my employer. Since then, I've kept enjoying it very much through the years. I had no idea it would last this long with hardly any serious problems. I did continue the maintenance on an interval of 20K instead of the advised 15K between service/oil change. For the maintenance I still visit the official Citroën dealer because I think they have the best knowledge and experience (at least @ GJO Garage Johan Oldenhage in Nieuw-Vennep). @ 300.000 km the clutch had to be replaced for the first time and the LPG unit was removed as this caused extra maintenance due to the valves and valve seats. Since then, the engine did not need extra service. In January 2012 the 400.000 km-mark was passed and some time after that I was able to meet with the original Citroën sales man who sold my Xantia in 1994 (photo below). Now my Xantia has completed over 455.000 km's (June 2017). Recently I have had the suspension spheres regassed which make the car float like new again. the 4th photo below was taken only a few days after the Xantia was delivered to me during a visit to Paris and Le Mondial 1994, the photo next to the 400.000 km number plate was taken during our summer holiday in 2013.
